Introduction
The mission of Association for Experiential Education is to expand educators and practitioners capacity to enrich lives through the philosophy and principles of experiential education.
• AEE is a nonprofit, professional membership association founded in 1972 with 1,500 members in 30 countries engaged in more than 15 areas of professional practice.
• Experiential education is a philosophy and methodology in which educators engage with learners in direct experience and reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills and clarify values.
• We are an international community of adventure educators, professors, camp counselors, students, therapists, teachers, facilitators, risk managers, ropes course instructors, guides and others who believe that experience plays a critical role in learning. The community advocates through conferences, networking opportunities, publications, resources, research, the accreditation program and Jobs Clearinghouse.
• Collectively, we impact more than 500,000 learners annually.
