RezRiders Snowboard Program

The RezRiders Snowboard program begins Feb. 10, with youth and adult participants from the Native American Community Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Similar to Burton's CHILL and Snowboard Outreach Society efforts; RezRiders emphasizes core values over 5 on-snow days. What is different about our program from others; is that youth participants develop their own 5 core values where adult mentors contextualize around critical issues American Indians experience, all while having fun and learning to snowboard. Additionally, snowboarding and core values are only one component of a year-long program which follows the water cycle through seasons, resulting in Community Actions Projects. The RezRiders curriculum will be freely available to the public during in March, 2010.
